What’s the Loop? Well, it is one of the most extensive trail systems in southern Arizona. 131 miles of paved trails where people can take in the scenes of Tucson.
The Loop is a family friendly activity and is for people of all ages and abilities.
Whether you are into walking, running, biking, cycling or skating, you can do it on the loop. Horse riding works too. In fact, if it doesn’t have a motor, it’s good to go on The Loop.

People can enter the loop in many places throughout the greater Tucson area. But one of the more popular is in the Town of Oro Valley. The Oro Valley side is the least trafficked side and the most scenic.
The Oro Valley section of the trail system provides 35 miles of mountain biking if you extend your ride up to ridge line. The Honey Bee Canyon Loop is a favorite for all mountain bikers.
Fast riders can do the loop in about 2 hours. A more relaxing pace is about 3 hours.
Along The Loop
The loop trail passes golf courses, resorts and places to stop and eat. Stay and play at quality resorts and hotels that border the The Loop. Bike, discover, or stay and play.
The Loop connects to parks, trails, bus routes, restaurants, hotels and motels. Not to mention shopping areas, and sports and entertainment venues.
Over 48 public works of art grace the pathways. Look for the “Arrow” painted on the pavement pointing the way.
Some of the more scenic and challenging bike routes in the greater Tucson area include. These routes are for experienced cyclist ready for narrow roads and motor vehicle traffic.
