The end of August makes us aware that summer is coming to a close and fall is upon us. In Tucson, the plants, birds, and butterflies are quite alive compliments of the monsoons and the two winged critters annual migration. In contrast, the July’s MLS results showed a slow down. Tucson Homes Newsletter August 2014 – Arizona Ranks in Top 10 States for Business
Chief Executive Magazine reports in a survey of over 500 CEOs across the U.S., Arizona ranked the seventh most attractive state for conducting business. Participants considered the following metrics: tax and regulatory regime, the quality of the workforce and the quality of the living environment.
For example, a state’s attitude toward business is viewed as a critical component of its tax and regulatory regime, while employees’ attitude toward management is considered a crucial factor in the perceived quality of a region’s workforce. Public education and health are also important factors in the living environment, as are such things as cost of living and affordable housing.

One of Tucson’s great grocery stores is now open after a fire July 2013. The family owned grocery store located near 6th Street and Tucson Blvd. has been serving Tucson residence since the 1920’s. In addition to the grocery store, they have great seafood, restaurant area, and are now serving wine and beer.
Gardening Tip:
Fertilize citrus before the end of this month. Also fertilize palms during the monsoons. Always water before applying any fertilizer. Prune deadheading flowers and plants. Start to cut back the irrigation as the monsoon season is ending soon.
