Tucson Folk Festival (April 6-7, 2019)

As one of the oldest admission-free folk music festivals in the United States. Established in 1986, this annual event features over 20 hours of live acoustic music. Local and national acts, folk arts workshops, kid’s activities, food stations, beer gardens, and more. Find it in the El Presidio Historic District.

Tucson International Mariachi Conference (April 24-27, 2019)

Masters of mariachi music perform with Mexican folklórico dancers in public concerts. And a traditional Catholic mariachi mass during this event. Founded in 1982 and nurtured by such legends as Mariachi Vargas De Tecalitlán, Mariachi Cobre, the late Lola Beltrán. And of course Tucson native Linda Ronstadt. Find it in the AVA Amphitheater at Casino Del Sol.

Arizona International Film Festival (April 10-21, 2019)

The oldest and longest running independent film festival in Arizona. Film shorts, children’s films, feature-length films, animation films, and documentaries are presented. It has exhibited over 2,500 films representing 90 countries to over 148,000 patrons in southern Arizona.

Agave Heritage Festival (April 23-May 5, 2019)

What began as a tequila-lover’s Cinco de Mayo celebration has evolved into a 21-day event. Rooted in the historical and cultural significance of the agave plant, featuring seminars and trade shows, culinary and musical events. Find spirit and food tastings, and a film screening and an art exhibit at this annual Tucson event.
