Best Places To Retire ArizonaFor many baby boomers, one of the top concerns for the future is, “where are the best places to retire in the United States?”. While there are many factors influencing this such a decision, a recently released survey by Bankrate.com may help.

Considerations

Bankrate.com surveyed “seniors” living in cities across the United States on reasons that they felt where important in making their decision on the best place to retire. Considerations included:

  • Cost of living
  • weather
  • crime rate
  • health care
  • tax rates
  • walk ability
  • well being ( the warm fussy feeling)

Arizona Most Popular

The results identified three of the four top best cities to retire, were in Arizona.

  1. Phoenix Metro ( this include Mesa and Scottsdale, AZ)
  2. Prescott
  3. Tucson

The lone entry in the top four best places to retire that wasn’t in Arizona was the Arlington/Alexandria Virginia metro area. Although this area is expensive relative to the others on the list, Virginia is considered to have one of the better healthcare systems and ease of access for seniors.

Interestingly, there is only one city in Florida on the list of best places to retire. Cape Coral. The survey results showed the best cities to retire in Florida were considered to wet (lots of rain), humidity and cost of living.

Oh, for those interested in the cities at the bottom of the top places to retire. They were

  1. New York City
  2. Little Rock, Ak
  3. New Haven, Ct
  4. Buffalo, NY

Needless to say, there are many factors to include when you create your list of best places to retire too. Biggest objection we hear from buyers about Prescott is they have snow during the winter months. For most people, one of the top priorities is proximity to family. From our personal experience, family is important, and they visit us in Tucson throughout the WINTER.
